- Low amounts of dust and fumes and a straightforward design.
- It is frequently used to protect structures and machine parts from corrosion (e.g. bridges, offshore platforms, LPG bottles).
- Flame spraying is mostly used to preserve structures and machine parts from corrosion as well as to reclaim worn shafts.
- When a cost-effective thermal spray coating is desired and a lower level of quality is acceptable, it is utilized.

Flame Powder Spray Gun
Powder flame Spray gun uses the same technique as the Flame Wire Spray gun, except we are using powder in the place of wire feedstock. the process is getting easier by using powder at the place of the wire. it is the most efficient process for metal coating. a wide range of materials can be used for coating or thermal spray. and it gives a good choice for coating. coatings like nickel or cobalt-based self-fluxing alloys or ceramics can be processed for thermal spray guns. Many alloys are very difficult or cannot be produced in a wire form and for this reason, it was developed.
The process works on the chemical reaction between oxygen and fuel of combustion to produce a heat source for melting the metal particles. This heat source creates a gas stream with a temperature in excess with accurately balanced conditions between oxygen and acetylene. The feedstock material to be sprayed is fed into the flame in the form of a powder to melt and the thermal expansion of the combustion is then used to atomize and accelerate the particles onto the substrate.
Features of a thermal spray gun
- Corrosion protection
- Chemical resistance
- Dimensional restoration
- Wear resistance
The powder flame spray gun is basically using the simple concept of spraying the molten metal onto a surface to be coated. In the metalizing coating, the material which is in powder form is melted into an oxy-fuel flame to form a spray. When this fine spray contacts the prepared surface of the substrate material, the fine molten droplets solidify when forming a coating.
This powder flame spray manufacturer process can be called a "cold process" (relative to the substrate powder form material being coated) as the substrate temperature can be kept low during processing the coating process avoiding damage, metallurgical changes, and distortion to the substrate material.
The main advantage of this powder flame spray process over the similar Combustion wire spray process is that a much wider range of coating materials can be easily processed into powder form giving a larger choice of coatings.
Applications of powder flame spray gun
- Metal powder coating
for the hot and cold spraying techniques or metal and oxidized ceramic powders. - Corrosion-resistant coatings
On the basis of low melting metal flame spraying powder (zinc and aluminum). - Plastic coatings
Many different types of thermoplastics and epoxy material coatings.
