XY Manipulator for Thermal Spray Gun
XY manipulator is used to providing movement to the thermal spray gun. XY manipulator is used to provide horizontal or vertical or lateral or any combination of movement in two directions to the thermal spray gun.
XY manipulator is also used for repeatable motion of thermal spray gun. In thermal spray, the XY manipulator provides to and fro motion to the spray gun.
XY manipulator works on rack and pinion or ball screw arrangement. To efficiently control the movement of a thermal spray gun axis is programmed.
The manipulator can be designed in AC variable drives, or servo-controlled drives as per the coating requirement to improve the quality of coating over the surface of the substrate.
AC variable drive or servo-controlled drive is also used for uniform coating, increases productivity, and for better utilization of material. And minimum chances of rejection in the coating due to even spray over the surface and reduce operator responsibility for coating.
XY manipulator is also connected to the control panel. In thermal spray to rotate the wire or forward the coating material motor and compressed air is used. When the motor is used to forward the coating material it is called an electric drive and when compressed air is used it is called an air drive. Rollers are used in flame-type sprat guns to pass the coating material. In an electric drive, the motor is also connected to an electric panel drive.
