Arc spray gun uses the substance in wire form as feedstock. An electric arc is used to provide the heat source by utilizing two current wires. These zinc wire are fed towards each other so that the electric current gets short circuit and this results in a high temperature of 4000° C. because of this high temperature the tips of supplies wire start decreasing and then this molten metal gets atomized through reduced air or inert gas and stimulate it towards the substrate.
Various coatings
- Nickel-based alloys
- Aluminum, zinc, Al/Zn alloys
- Babbitt alloys
- Iron-based alloys
- Copper slag and copper alloys
There is an advantage of this arc spray coating system is that we can use two separate wires to produce an imitation alloy. Cored wire also can be used with unique features.
Also, there are no effective drive parts in the arc spray gun to wear out, so this is decreasing the weight of the Arc Spray Coating this reduction of moving drive parts eliminates the maintenance cost. There are no air caps, front wire design changes are required which gives repeatable high-quality coatings. The Wire Arc Spraying provides excellent atomization and airflow with a variety of air caps which are created to produce the precise thermal spray model for the task.
