Applications and Suitability

Application fit and key selection factors before enquiry.

  • Used for cleaning steel fabrications
  • Used by Engineering Industry
  • Cold iron is a harsh abrasive that works well for etching but is less impact-resistant.
  • Blasting produces a persistent mixture of sharp grit that can swiftly and effectively roughen even the strongest surface since cooled iron splits at an angle throughout the operation.
  • While it works well for quick cleaning and edging in blast rooms, wheel blast machines shouldn't use it because it quickly wears down the machine's parts.

Product Overview

Chilled Iron Grit

Chilled Iron abrasive is a dense, hard, and angular abrasive shot ideal for blasting steel fabrications, in blast rooms where it can be collected and reused.

Chilled Iron Abrasive is a high-performance metallic cast iron granular abrasive media created by crushing iron shots to various sizes.  It is commonly used in blast rooms or cabinets where it can be recycled efficiently.
