Blast room

The blast room system is a much larger version of a blast cabinet. Blasting operators work inside the blast room to roughen, smooth, or clean surfaces of a component according to the needs of the finished product. Blast room system and accessories come in many sizes, some of them are huge enough to accommodate very large or uniquely shaped objects like rail cars, commercial and military vehicles, construction equipment, and aircraft.

The Blast room system can be of Steel Constructed or Civil Constructed, in Civil constructed blasting booth door will be of mild steel, fabricated with air louvers. Air louvers allow required air as per the dust collection system.

Types of doors of the blast room system

  • Sliding door
  • Hinged type door

Doors of the blast room system can supply according to customer needs and space available at customers' workshops. The door of the blast room system is of mild steel.

Blast Rooms Enclosure

There are two types of blast rooms enclosure:

Metallic Blast Room

The metallic blast room is a fully sealed, all-steel structure, viable to be made in varying sizes. The panels are prefabricated for a simple bolt-together erection on site. Blast Room Enclosure is based o this design to meet the majority of customers' requirements.

Civil constructed blast room

The doors will be steel fabricated of civil constructed blast rooms. Air louvers enter required air as per the dust collection system which is fitted indoors. The walls of the civil constructed blast room are of stone and cement etc. The door is steel fabricated with air louvers, glass windows, hinges, etc. The door can be sliding and hinge type.

Components of the blast room system

  • An enclosure or containment system, the room itself which prevent abrasive media to escape
  • Rubber sheet for the safety of blast room walls.
  • A blasting system: air blasting or wheel blasting.
  • A blasting pot: a pressurized hopper filled with abrasive blasting media
  • A dust collection system; to filter the air in the blast room and collect all the dust particles in the blast room
  • A media recycling system or media reclamation system; to collect abrasive blasting media and reuse it.
  • Operator platform; for blasting on height

Blasting system

There is a blasting system in the blasting booth system for blasting of the component. The blasting system can be wheel blasting (airless blasting) or air blasting. The sand blasting mechanism can be pressure or suction blasting in the blast room system. there is a sand blasting hopper that is filled with abrasive media. media can be used according to the component and surface finish required.

Dust collection system

The dust collection system is used to improve the air quality in the system by removal of dust and impurities particles from the air inside the system.

Dust collection is a continuous process for collecting any kind of generated dust or fumes from the source point in any industry or factory. Dust collectors may be of single unit construction, or multi-unit construction (a collection of devices) used to separate dust from the process air. They are often used as air pollution control devices to maintain or improve the air quality of our surroundings.

Types of industrial dust collectors:-

Recovery system

All abrasive recovery system includes three basic functions:

  • Delivering the abrasive which bounces off the workpiece to a central recovery point.
  • Transport the abrasive from the central point to an abrasive cleaner.
  • Eliminating dust, fines, and other unwanted material from the abrasive before it enters the blast machine to re-use.
